
KUINDRA, Medialokal. co-Yayasan Mitra Insani along with the head of Perigi Raja Village, the head of Dusun, RT, RW and local communities agreed to conduct a temporary fisheries savings program (TS) in the framework of a big step for the future of Fisheries and environmental conservation, Saturday (13/07/2024)
Please note that the implementation of this saving activity has actually started since May 2024, but the official inauguration can only be carried out this month.
Regarding the location of the temporary savings of 28 hectares, it is closed for 3 months from fishing activities that have the main target of mangrove crabs, which is expected to have a positive economic impact on the surrounding community and ecological impact on mangrove crabs. In addition, the same area also functions as a mangrove rehabilitation site, combining conservation efforts with the sustainable use of Natural Resources.
In his speech, the head of Perigi Raja village, Mr. Murdi, SE conveyed an important message about the importance of protecting the environment for future generations.
‘let us together take care of our environment because in the future it could be that our children and grandchildren can no longer enjoy the results of fisheries resources that we currently feel” he said in front of the people present.
The head of Perigi Raja village hoped that there would be cohesiveness to maintain the savings area.

Meanwhile, M.Rukim, as the fisheries staff of Yayasan Mitra Insani also gave a statement supporting this initiative.

“Saving this area is an example for all regions in the Indragiri Hilir regency which has almost the same type, has many rivers, by providing special areas to be used as conservation areas, and providing time for fishery resources to multiply. Hopefully, high-value fishery resources can be sustainable to the next generation, ‘ he added.
He said again, this inauguration is not only about saving mangrove crabs, but also about instilling environmental awareness to the community. By involving all elements of the village, this activity is expected to be a pilot model for other villages around the coastal area.
The presence of various parties in this inauguration shows the spirit of togetherness and commitment to preserving the environment. Local communities are expected to continue to work together in maintaining and managing this temporary fisheries savings, so that the benefits can be felt in a sustainable manner.
